Tech articles:   Adjusting your accelerator pump   Rear Suspension Modification  Tips  Oil Cooler Pics TIPS TIP 1 I've lost 2 engines from a simple hose failure. As many of you know, the beehive oil cooler (83-85 12A's) has a tendency to harden up the o-rings that seal it to the mount. This causes oil to leak on the engine. If you look in this area most of these cars you can see evidence of these leaks. The oil, unfortunately drips right onto the hoses directly below. Over time the hoses become oil soaked and spongy, and if left long enough, it will fail, causing the loss of coolant and engine overheating. |
